The department houses the largest Pediatric Endocrinology service in Coimbatore started by Prof. Raghupathy from CMC Vellore and now run by Dr. Ahila Ayyavoo. Neonatal screening program for hypothyroidism was started in 1st January 2006. Special awareness camps for type I Diabetes Mellitus patients, obese children’s and also for children with Disorders of Sexual Differentiation are held regularly.
