GKNM Hospital Celebrates 74th Founders’ Day, Reinforcing Legacy of Healthcare Excellence

Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital (GKNM Hospital), one of South India’s leading healthcare institutions, celebrated its 74th Founders’ Day at Mani Higher Secondary School, commemorating an extraordinary journey from a modest 50-bed mother-and-child hospital established in 1952 to a comprehensive 750-bed multi-specialty healthcare institution.
Founded on the vision of philanthropist G. Kuppuswamy Naidu and guided by the Kuppuswamy Naidu Charity Trust for Education and Medical Relief, GKNM Hospital continues to uphold its legacy of compassionate, patient-centered care and clinical excellence.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Dr. N. Kannan, IPS, Commissioner of Police, Coimbatore City, along with Mr. R. Gopinath, President, KNC Trust; Mr. Sanjay Jayavarthanavelu, Vice-President, KNC Trust; Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, Chief Executive Officer, GKNM Hospital; and Dr. G. Manoharan, Chief Medical Officer, GKNM Hospital.
As part of the celebrations, Distinguished Service Awards, Performance Excellence Awards, and Meritorious Service Awards were presented to employees whose dedication and contributions have significantly enhanced patient care and service excellence over the years.
The GKNM Integrated Out-Patient Centre (GKNM iOP) has been recognized by the Asia Book of Records as Asia’s Largest Integrated Out-Patient Centre. The facility houses more than 30 medical departments, over 300 doctors, advanced diagnostic services, and same-day surgical care facilities. Reflecting a holistic approach to healthcare, the centre also offers Yoga, Naturopathy, and Acupuncture services.
