GKNM Hospital hosted a successful conference, “Physiocon 2025,” 1st Edition, for building advanced medical practices in physiotherapy. The event brought together physiotherapy, medical experts, and students for an interactive and knowledge-sharing session from expert doctors of GKNM Hospital. The theme of the event was “Stronger Together: Advancing Physiotherapy.” The event invited practicing physiotherapists, physiotherapy residents, physiotherapy students, and interns.

This conference was an insightful session to learn about advancements, technologies, and clinical approaches to lung and heart rehabilitation. Practical evidence, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the community of physiotherapy professionals acknowledged the event's core focus.

Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy, CEO of GKNM Hospital, led the Physicon event alongside expert doctors from multiple departments. Digital Trends in Rehabilitation, Speaker: Dr. S. Sundara Kumar (Medical Superintendent Officer & Consultant Anaesthesiologist); Role of Exercise Testing: Beyond Ischemia Detection, Speaker: Dr. R. Shanmuga Sundaram (Chief Consultant – Heart Failure Clinic & Echocardiography); Cardiothoracic Surgeries: Illustrated and Explained, Speaker: Dr. Madhava Rao (Consultant Cardiothoracic Surgeon); BLS/CPR – The Kiss of Life, Speaker: Dr. Sabariash Sivakumar (Consultant – Department of Emergency Medicine). 

Post-lunch, everyone participated in three sessions that focused on advanced treatments and technologies by Cardiac Rehab: Key Focus Areas, Speaker: Dr. R. Mahesh Mitra (HOD, Dept. of Physiotherapy); Decoding Diagnosis in Chronic Lung Diseases, Speaker: Dr. S. Senthilkumar (Consultant Pulmonology); Beyond Transplant Candidacy: The Role of Hybrid Pulmonary Rehab in Advanced Lung Diseases, Speaker: Dr. Sivapriya (Consultant Respiratory Specialist & Therapist, HAC – Coimbatore), culminating in the prize distribution for the poster competition winners.
