The Department of Emergency Medicine successfully organized the Ambulance Drivers Meet 2026, themed “The Golden Hours Heroes,” at the GKD Auditorium, GKNM Hospital on 20 June 2026. The event brought together ambulance drivers who play a vital role in emergency medical services and patient care.

The program served as a tribute to the dedication, courage, and commitment of these frontline professionals, whose prompt response and timely actions during the critical “golden hour” often make the difference between life and death.

The event was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Sabarish Sivakumar, Chairman - Department of Emergency Medicine, and Dr. Leo Peter, Senior Resident - Emergency Medicine, whose leadership and support contributed significantly to the success of the program.

A key highlight of the event was an engaging Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) demonstration, aimed at reinforcing life-saving skills and promoting awareness of emergency response techniques. The session provided participants with valuable practical knowledge that can help improve patient outcomes during emergencies.

To recognize and appreciate the invaluable contributions of ambulance drivers, prizes and certificates were distributed to participants during the event. The gathering also provided an opportunity for interaction, learning, and sharing experiences among emergency care professionals.

The Department of Emergency Medicine extends its heartfelt gratitude to all the ambulance drivers, participants, organizers, and support staff who contributed to making the event a meaningful and memorable success. Their unwavering commitment continues to strengthen the chain of survival and enhance emergency healthcare services in the community.
