The Pediatric nephrology division at GKNM Hospital provides comprehensive care for patients with all forms of kidney disease from infancy through late adolescence, with the recent, innovative diagnostic and treatment techniques.

The paediatric Nephrology division at GKNM deals with the diagnosis and treatment of the following conditions: 

• Nephrotic Syndrome( Protein leak through kidneys)

• Acute and chronic glomerulonephritis of various etiologies

• Renal Vasculitis

• Haematuria (blood in urine)

• Hereditary Nephropathy

• Renal tubular disorders causing electrolyte and acid-base disturbances

• Voiding disorders including bed wetting

• Vitamin D Refractory Rickets

• Renal Calculi (kidney stones)

• Acute Kidney Injury

• Chronic Renal Failure

• Childhood Hypertension (high blood pressure)

• Developmental abnormalities of the kidneys

• Urogenital abnormalities

• Percutaneous Renal biopsy

• Acute dialysis (Haemodialysis, SLED, SCUF and peritoneal dialysis) in PICU and NICU

• Chronic Haemodialysis and Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD)
