GKNM Hospital’s Valavadi Narayanasamy Cancer Center organized a program for Cancer Survivors Day
GKNM Hospital’s Valavadi Narayanasamy Cancer Center organized a program for Cancer Survivors Day on June 6th 2026. It was held on the theme “Celebrating Life, Raising Awareness and Inspiring Hope for the Future."
Dr. G. Manoharan, Chief Medical Officer (CMO), honoured the chief guest during the program. A few donors were also felicitated in recognition of their valuable contributions.
The program featured Dr Sivanesan - Chairman, Department of Oncology who delivered the welcome address, Thiru S. Madhana Gopal - Consultant Physiotherapist & Orator, who gave the chief guest note, and some motivational speeches and stories were shared by Dr Subramani Gandhi - Consultant in Medical Yoga & Integrated Medicine Therapist. It revolved around emphasizing cancer care, recovery & emotional resilience and also stressed the importance of nurturing mental well-being and overall wellness. Some of the cancer survivors also shared their experiences about the challenges that they faced and how their priorities and relationships took a turn.
The program also featured a dance performance by Ms. Aruna Lawrence along with a mind-reading act & balloon show that added some fun and entertainment to the celebrations. It was concluded by Dr. Mohanraj, Chief of Surgical Oncology, with a vote of thanks.
