Overview

The Emergency Department at G. Kuppuswamy Naidu Memorial Hospital has a long-standing and deep-rooted commitment to provide good ethical and quality service to the community with a catchment area of over 100 square kilometres. We are a Level 1 Cardiac & Neurology care centre with special focus on MI (Heart Attacks), CVA (Stroke), Poly-trauma, medical & surgical illness.

Treatment & Procedures

The Department has an exclusive resuscitation room, a 10 bed critical care area and separate areas for emergency, urgent and paediatric care. The Department has a dedicated mobile digital x-ray machine, MRI and an ultrasound within the department, Point of care system, all fully staffed with technicians and radiologists 24 hours a day. In addition, an on-site pharmacy provides rapid access and distribution of medications. Our outstanding Emergency Medicine physician assistants complement our delivery of health care throughout the Department, caring for low acuity patients to allow post graduates to concentrate on the higher acuity patients.

The Emergency Department recently implemented a fully integrated Electronic Health Record system. The state-of-art radiology and laboratory is computerized with instant access to current images.

The Department consists of a diverse group of over 7 ER trained Staff physicians, 5 PG residents, 5 Physician Assistants (Advanced Practice Providers) and 35 registered nurses & support personnel.
