She started her career as Assistant Medical Officer in the Department of Anaesthesia of GKNM Hospital in 1980 and became the Head of the Department in 1984 and has been heading the department since then.

She Was Instrumental in starting the DNB programme in Anaesthesia in 2001. She is a DNB Trainee, Guide and an Examiner.

B.Sc in Anaesthesia and OT technology courses were started in 2012 in GKNM Hospital under her able guidance.
