Dr. Ragupathy Veluswamy – Chief Executive Office


Now working as the CEO of GKNM Hospital, Coimbatore, India, since October 2015. GKNM Hospital is a 650 bed super- specialty hospital with post-graduate teaching programs, primary care outreach centers and a school of nursing. In his role he is responsible for overall operations, academic programs and restructuring the organization for growth and expansion. He was in clinical pediatric practice for over 20 years in USA and served in various physician leadership and physician executive roles. He has extensive experience in performance improvement activities including Lean Six sigma and clinical data mining to share best practice information to physicians to promote clinical excellence. He has over 15 years administrative experience as Vice President in major healthcare institutions in USA and was involved as a key strategist with Process Proxy Corporation, Maryland, USA, a healthcare innovation company, consulting & implementing various projects to improve efficiency, patient safety and outcomes in various sites across the United States.

B.Sc., MBBS, DCH, AB (Ped), CHCQM, FAAP, MMM, CPE, FACPE. He is a Certified Physician Executive with a Master’s degree in Medical Management from Carnegie Mellon University; Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatrics, American Board of Quality and Utilization Review Physicians and a Fellow of the American Institute for Health Care Quality, Fellow of the American college of Physician Executives. He is also a Six Sigma Black Belt from Villanova University and a Lean Six Sigma facilitator. He was on the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award for 2010 & 2011.
