Overview

The Department of Anesthesia provides 24-hour perioperative service, encompassing pre- anesthetic assessment, intraoperative and postoperative care of diverse surgical patients. It also provides anesthesia service for procedures outside the operating theatre such as interventional pulmonology, artificial reproductive therapy, radiology and obstetric analgesia.

The department has 6 operating rooms for General Surgery, Pediatric, Orthopedic, Urology, Oncology, Obstetric and Neuro surgery. The operating rooms are equipped with anesthesia work station, advanced hemodynamic monitors and ultrasound machine for vascular access and nerve blocks. There are 5 senior anesthetist doing about 6000 cases per year and they are assisted by DNB trainees and Anesthesia Technicians.

The anesthetists are trained in assessing and managing patients with difficult airway and the department is well equipped with advanced difficult airway equipments such as
