The Department of Radiology started with a single X-ray unit in 1958. Today it is a state of art complete department with digitized X-ray, high end Ultrasound with Doppler, Mammogram, CT Scan and MRI. The department runs round the clock.

The Mammogram unit installed in the year 1998 has immensely contributed to Breast Cancer diagnosis and screening in this region.

The 16 slice CT scan installed in 2004 was then the first of its kind in South India. Subsequently in 2011, the 256 slice CT Scanner (Phillips iCT) was installed. It is one of the most advanced CT scanner available to do CT Coronary Angiogram and is the first in the state and second in the country.

The latest generation of 1.5 Tesla MRI was installed in April 2009. It has advanced imaging features like cardiac images, whole body diffusion weighted imaging etc.

Unique to the Hospital is the Picture Archival and Communication System (PACS) installed in 2006. All Radiological images and reports are stored perpetually and can be retrieved at any time. This helps in reducing the patient waiting time and making cross referrals easy.

We commit ourselves :

  • To ensure images and reports of the highest quality within the stipulated time.
  • To not practice sex determination : "STOP FEMALE FOETICIDE"
  • To practice ALARA ( ie . deliver lowest possible radiation doses)
